What we store, why we store it, and how to get rid of it. Last updated 31 July 2026.
What we collect
Only what running the app requires. There is no sign-up form beyond GitHub, and nothing here is optional-but-encouraged.
From GitHub when you sign in: your GitHub account id, your username and display name, and your email address. We ask GitHub for your email specifically so we can reach you about your own account — verification, and billing problems.
What you put in the app: your products and the platforms you ship them on, your releases, and your checklists and their items.
If you upgrade: a Stripe customer id and subscription id, the plan and interval you chose, and the status Stripe reports. We never see or store your card details — those are entered on Stripe's own pages and stay with Stripe.
A session cookie so you stay signed in, and ordinary server logs.
What we don't do
There is no analytics, no advertising pixel, and no third-party script of any kind on any page of this site. That is enforced in the app's content security policy rather than merely intended: the browser is told to refuse scripts from anywhere but this domain, so a tracker could not be added quietly. We don't sell your data, and we don't share it for anyone else's marketing.
Who else touches your data
Three companies, each doing one job:
Stripe processes payments and handles checkout. If you upgrade, they receive your payment details directly and hold their own record of the transaction.
Mailgun delivers our email. Anything we send you — verification, billing notices — passes through them.
GitHub authenticates you. They know you signed in here; they do not receive anything you store in the app.
The app and its database run on Heroku. We may also disclose data if the law genuinely requires it.
How long we keep it
Your account and everything under it stay until you delete them. Delete your account from your profile page and the account goes, along with every product, release, checklist and item tied to it — immediately and for good, not flagged as hidden. Stripe keeps its own payment records afterwards, because tax law requires it of them; that part is out of our hands.
Your rights
You can see everything we hold about you inside the app, correct it by editing it, and delete all of it from your profile page. If you want a copy of it, or want something removed that you can't remove yourself, ask us and we'll do it.
Getting in touch
Questions about any of this, or a request to action: email support@shipwhenready.app or use the form on the support page.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we do with your data, we'll email you before it takes effect rather than quietly updating the date at the top.
