What ShipWhenReady is
ShipWhenReady is a release checklist tool for indie app makers.
You add a product — an app you ship on the App Store, Google Play, or the web. Under it you add releases, one per version. Each release gets checklists, and each checklist gets the steps that version needs before it can go out. Steps you mark as required can't be skipped.
Why it exists
Indie apps rarely stall in the code. They stall in the last mile: the screenshots, the release notes, the build you keep meaning to submit. That work is unglamorous, easy to forget, and the same every time, which makes it exactly the sort of thing a checklist is good at.
What it isn't
ShipWhenReady is not a project board, an issue tracker, or a sprint planner. There are no epics, no story points, and no burndown. It covers the stretch between "the code is done" and "it's live", and leaves the rest of your process alone.
It knows about your repo
Sign-in is GitHub, so there's no password to manage. You can link a product to its GitHub repository and a release to a milestone, and ShipWhenReady will show that milestone's open issues next to your checklists — the work still in flight and the work left to ship, on one page.
No trackers, on any page
ShipWhenReady runs no analytics and no advertising trackers, on any page, signed in or out. That isn't a policy — the content security policy only permits scripts served by the app itself, so a third-party script can't load even if one were added by mistake. The privacy policy has the rest of the detail.
What it costs
One active product is free for as long as you like, with unlimited releases, checklists and items. Pro lifts the limit on active products and changes nothing else. See the current prices.
